Great Smoky Mountains National Park is expanding its adaptive ranger-led programs 2024. Using assistive technology, the ranger-led programs are designed for visitors of all abilities and their families to learn about the natural and cultural history of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The adaptive ranger-led programming runs from June 8 to Oct. 5, including opportunities for hiking, biking, and kayaking. For visitors who want to explore on their own, the park also has four GRIT Freedom Chairs (off-road wheelchairs) available for check out.
The programs and GRIT Freedom Chairs were made possible through the support from Catalyst Sports, Friends of the Smokies, Kampgrounds of America Foundation and National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF).
