Early reports indicated that there were two gunmen. One gunman is believed to be in police custody and the other is on the run.
Paramedics are on the scene and are treating several victims. Students could be seen being led out of the sprawling campus with their hands on their heads. Police SWAT teams were searching the campus.
An emergency alert was sent to students advising them and faculty to take immediate shelter and not to enter the campus until notified further. Other local school were also placed on lock down.

Volgens ingewijden in de school werden de schoten afgevuurd in het deel rond de bibliotheek op de campus. Volgens de Harris County Emergency Corp zijn er twee slachtoffers met schotwonden afgevoerd. Terwijl hulpverleners zich focussen op het gebied rond de bibliotheek, vluchtten veel studenten.
Een student vertelde Eyewitness News dat ze vijf schoten hoorde. Die werden volgens haar afgevuurd buiten de bibliotheek, ook vlakbij een studentencafetaria. Studenten die in die snackbar zaten verklaarden ook dat ze schoten hoorden.
Sommige delen van de campus zijn ontruimd, anderen schuilen. Vicki Cassidy, woordvoerder op de campus, vertelt dat er een schuillocatie aanwezig is op het complex
Aldine ISD heeft vier campussen in de buurt van Lone Star College afgesloten. Op het moment kijken hulpdiensten hoe ernstig de situatie is.
