Thanks to those who were friendly and welcoming

Before leaving this forum (after one day and only two posts where I was racked through the coals for my poor Dutch writing skill) I would just like to thank those of you who have been very welcoming. It only takes a couple of people to ruin the spirit of such a great forum.

People like Benno either have nothing better to do than to cast judgement or are exactly what the Netherlands is NOT about. I have found most people here to be extremely friendly, supportive and mature but there are always a couple of people who tend to ruin it for the rest.

I wish this forum many good conversations. We Americans like the Dutch even if they may speak with an accent or do not have great writing skills.

I didn't rake you over the coals (or put you on the rack), I said that I appreciate your effort and your certainly understandable Dutch.

As I said: if after 21 years in the US (actually it's been 37 years) my English was similar to your Dutch and I complained that nobody understood me or wanted to accept my work, everybody here on the forum would have ctiticized me and told me to shape up or ship out.
