Helaas slecht nieuws. Ik had voor mei de Delicate Arch in mijn planning staan.
Nu blijkt deze Arch recent te zijn verplaatst naar St Louis.

Nu zoek ik een alternatief want ik heb nu tijd over, iemand een goed idee?

April 1, 2015 - Today in an unprecidented land swap, the National Park Service announced the completion of the Arch Exchange Project. Started in April 2011 the project was conceived to save the taxpayers millions of dollars in paint transportation costs by putting Delicate Arch in the midwest, closer to the red paint factories.
Concurrent ceremonies celebrating the completion of the project were held today in Utah and Missouri. "Many people aren't aware that Delicate Arch must be painted every 6 months to maintain it's red tint." said Clem Kadiddlehopper, director of the National Park Service today at the ceremony in Arches National Park. "The park service determined that the stainless steel construction of the Gateway Arch would hold up to erosion better in the harsh Utah desert climate. We also decided that the 'Gateway to the West' should probably actually be somewhere closer to the actual West" he said during the ceremony.
Many visitors from around the world were in attendance. The Farkle family from California were visiting Arches National Park: "The way the sunshine bounces off the Gateway Arch into the desert is a beautiful thing to behold." said Freddy Farkle from Burbank. His wife, Fanny Farkle added: "I honestly think this is going to be designated as the 8th wonder of the world!" Their twin boys, Simon and Gar Farkle, told us they were excited to finally be able to climb the inside of an arch in the park.
Visitors to the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in St. Louis were equally excited."To see that grand sandstone arch stand against the landscape when coming down the Mississippi is a sight to behold" said a woman we only know as Ernestine, a telephone operator working in St. Louis. Her friend Phonecia agreed.
The NPS says they expect heavier than usual traffic at both these locations for
the next few months.

Ik heb begrepen dat er een boel kritiek is geweest op de handelswijze van de BLM.
Ze hebben inmiddels besloten om het Arch Exchange Project per direct te stoppen.
De Delicate Arch wordt daarom vandaag weer terug gezet in Arches NP.

Dat is al snel! Misschien kan je dan verslag uitbrengen of ze de Delicate Arch weer op de juiste plek hebben terug gezet?
Ik ben er zelf wat later, 30/5 tot 2/6 in Moab.
